Alternatively, visit Enkhuizen, known as the "Haringstad" due to its history as the center of herring fishing. To taste herring, you can now visit the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen. Besides tasting herring, there’s plenty to do at the Zuiderzee Museum for both young and old. Or go to Fairy Tale Wonderland, a large park where all the famous and lesser-known fairy tale characters live.
